« The Love of God does not save all men. John 3.16 teaches unmistakably that only those who believe on the Son will have eternal life. (…) Being almyghty, God could save all men by force. Being love, He has chosen to save by love instead. He wonderfully displays His love in the crucified Son. In the gospel, He lovingly pleads with sinners to respond to that love by receiving the Son in fatih. Because God saves by love, not by force, only believers are saved.
(…) The unbeliever spurns the love of God. If this love were small, it would be a small sin to ignore it. If this love is great, it is a great sin to reject it. But the fact is that this love is infinite. »
